Inspired by my passion for patisserie, during my stay in France, I ended up working in the Pierre Hermé laboratory and at the NANAN (Michelin-starred) patisserie. These experiences, in parallel with my studies in interior architecture and design, made me realise the similarities between these two worlds. The technique of a patissier is similar to that of an upholsterer, who fills the structure of a sofa or an armchair. For my free topic, I propose a new method of chair design, based on the different phases of patisserie making. I have produced a protocol to transform the patisserie object into a chair. This research method has resulted in an armchair that borrows its languages, structure, covering and finish details from the characteristics of patisserie.
