The chair. An object that has so much to say to us. Essential to our indoor spaces. Iconic figure of design. Opening up possibilities in the arts. Meeting point between space and narration. I position myself as a designer-performer. Continuing the investigations of my dissertation: “When set design becomes the author”, this adventure explores the process of creating a stage device. I design and perform an analysis on the chair. A ordinary, communal chair. Found during a rehearsal. Behind a costume rack at the back of a dressing room. Revealed by the light of a projector. I see it, show it, use it, divert it, understand it, dismantle it, draw it. I dream it.
