Old furniture, abandoned on city pavements, disqualified resources that we choose to forget. This fact produced the dissertation: “Re-use: How it works.” Beyond the recycling industry, re-use or upcycling is a process that looks at various topics such as the relationship between people and waste or the way in which people consume. The purpose of this dissertation is to examine the vast question of re-use through observation and analysis of different contexts, positions and examples of re-use.
