The Musée des Arts Décoratifs is one of the world’s greatest collectors. Yet a large part of its works remains in the archives. We propose exploring the discourse of the MAD’s works by involving external parties to bring complementary visions of the current museum. We have taken inspiration from the covered passages, nods to revery and moving around in these spaces by offering a museum open to the outside. Within the building, a pathway offers a foretaste of the exhibitions open to the public. Three types of space are proposed in the MAD to spark interaction. Through the projects devised by external stakeholders, such as talks, debates, exhibitions and retail, the MAD can be transformed into a forum for interaction.
