‘The Museum of the Decorative Arts Garden’ is a proposal for redeveloping the Carrousel Garden and the entrance to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (MAD) to raise the museum’s visibility and impact. The MAD is a fascinating museum offering a range of activities to draw in a wide audience. However, it is hard to see from the outside because it is concealed within the Louvre’s iconic envelope. To create more visibility, we recommend displaying certain elements we found in the MAD’s main collections and reimagining the Carrousel Garden. These objects that include a detail, a curve, a posture, will be shown in our garden to provide a foretaste of the MAD’s collections and calming stroll before the main event.
