The MAD’s multidisciplinary programme confuses the visitor’s understanding of the institution. In the wake of the paradigm shifts of our age, the permanent collection, arguably the cornerstone of the MAD, will assert itself over the temporary exhibitions. It will become the ‘MAD trademark’. At a time of free internet connection, the chronological narrative proposed by the museum journey feels too linear and anachronistic. Building bridges creates new sequences within the collection. These sequences will be led by a dedicated app based on different themes (object, know-how, etc.). Visitors will be treated to a tailored experience. On the strength of this physical and virtual navigation tool, the MAD will gain a reputation as a bold, forward-looking and sustainable museum.
