Destination MAD is a project offering a journey through space and time in the permanent exhibitions. The visitor journey throughs the main museum along a series of installations guided by a main thread. Visitors are often confused by the scale of the MAD collections, which are interconnected by a maze-like path in parts. Destination MAD allows the visitor to travel through a space-time tunnel to discover part of the museum’s oeuvres. This monochrome space becomes an important touchstone for visitors. This journey provides a pathway as well as dedicated visitors spaces. The classic nave on the ground floor becomes the museum’s nerve centre where the reception and ticket office will be located. On the fifth floor, the MAD Bar and stage beneath the industrial great nave is the final surprise.
