In Myanmar, along the coastline of the Southern Rakhine region, lies the Bay of Kyawkalatt, a corner of paradise that is still wild. To the North is the seaside resort of Ngapali beach, a manmade, highly developed “artificial” paradise. The Tree is a hotel project built in harmony with its environment. The constraints of the land are turned into riches. Slopes become roofs, the upper part of the land is transformed into nests, in which bungalows are perched. Our journey through this place must leave as few traces as possible behind us. Myanmar, a country full of hope that was beginning to open up to the world, has been under a military coup d’état since February.
