My project focuses on the renovation of the young people’s residence in Romorantin (41). The red brick building was built in 1967 and most recently renovated in 1989. The building is currently in great need of renovation so that it can serve for another 30 years. The staff in the residence regret that the residents no longer communicate with each other. So my design focuses on transforming the collective areas, turning them into more welcoming spaces. In addition, the 12 sq m bedrooms without kitchenettes do not meet the tenants’ current needs. So I've increased the surface area of the bedrooms to 18 sq m, with a separate kitchen and bathroom. Finally, due to a limited budget, I've chosen solid, long-lasting, inexpensive materials.
