On the edge of the Bois de Vincennes in Paris and Nogent-sur-Marne, the Jardin d’Agronomie Tropicale (Garden of Tropical Agriculture) appears to have been abandoned since the Colonial Exhibition of 1907. Originally dedicated to agronomy, it is now a place for scientific research (CIRAD), walks and artistic presentations. With buildings and memorials dotted around the grounds, it seems as if it is waiting for a new architectural identity. “De Vives Voix” offers a scenic space where words, stories, music and polyphonic gestures question the relationship to memory. The site offers a new interpretation of the past and present, a forum for post-colonial and decolonial thoughts and practice. Furniture, an orientation table and new signage complete the site, blending in with the landscape.
