Artisanal spaces in cities: Necessary adaptability of spaces to modern society

How can we design our artisanal spaces in cities and occupy them differently? Is there a way of making this know-how last while integrating it into the existing space? Due to a lack of space and for economic reasons, many artisans join forces. There are now new production spaces where different trades share the same space. These craftsmen and women share tools, machines and lifestyles at their workplace, which fosters social relationships. For my research for this dissertation, I conducted interviews at various Parisian studios.
