Are we all equal in the city? Is Parisian public space gendered? How do men and women appropriate public space? What are the town planning and architectural solutions to these problems? Via a mapping experience carried out with residents in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, I headed off to find representations. This dissertation is a methodological attempt to look at gender in public spaces. The aim of this dissertation was to observe, interpret and investigate to identify architecture and town planning projects targeting public spaces, mobility, and their appropriation.
