This dissertation focuses on the architecture of synagogues, looking at its origins and inspirations. We will see that the synagogue is not just a place of prayer but a functional hub of community life. We will study the symbols and images that support the Jewish culture and make up the interior space. Finally, the mysterious character of the synagogue will be explained through architectural myths and creations. The themes of adaptability and mobility in architecture will naturally be discussed.
