Les fontaines ont un fonctionnement diff\u00e9rent durant la journ\u00e9e. Lorsque la chaleur est trop pr\u00e9sente, les brumisateurs diffusent une l\u00e9g\u00e8re brume sur les passants. En fin de journ\u00e9e, lorsque la chaleur redescend, les bassins sont statiques et refl\u00e8tent l’architecture du b\u00e2timent, les fontaines sont \u00e0 l’arr\u00eat. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

De nombreuses recherches autour de la ville et des enjeux climatiques que l’on y trouve m’ont amen\u00e9e \u00e0 construire ce travail. Le traitement de l’eau non potable en ville, ainsi que la temp\u00e9rature toujours plus chaude et rendant la ville invivable sont les deux th\u00e9matiques principales sur lesquelles je me suis appuy\u00e9e.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

S’implanter pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment sur le parvis de la Gare du Nord r\u00e9pond \u00e0 des enjeux climatiques particuli\u00e8rement exacerb\u00e9s dans ce quartier. On y trouve une forte densit\u00e9 de population, un environnement tr\u00e8s min\u00e9ral, peu de v\u00e9g\u00e9tation et \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de passage – voyageurs, habitants, fl\u00e2neurs…<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

L’installation se d\u00e9compose en trois parties distinctes. Une qui fait face \u00e0 l’entr\u00e9e de la gare, proposant des assis-debout et des fontaines d’eau potable. Une seconde qui propose, de part et d’autre de l’entr\u00e9e, des espaces d’assises parsem\u00e9es au milieu de bassins rafra\u00eechissants, et enfin une derni\u00e8re compos\u00e9e de fontaines plus hautes.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n\n

Water becomes the principal component in urban furniture, installed in a public space, at strategic points during very hot periods.
